Gynecology & Obstetrics

The department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology started working with the opening of the hospital and is extending high quality services to the patients. It has established its fame as one of the best centre in the country. We provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynaecology services at obstetric and gynaecology department. We have faculty as per PMDC requirement. We are providing training to undergraduate and post graduate students. Our students will have exposure to all modern technologies needed for training and services. The postgraduate trainee doctors feel proud to come to this department with the high success rate.

Our department is a dynamic unit with special orientation towards the management of high risk pregnancies, infertility, advanced oncologic surgeries, minimal invasive (endoscopic) services including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, colposcopy and complicated referred gynaecological cases from all over the Pakistan.

The unit is divided into various sections i.e. out patient department, obstetrics (antenatal, labour room and postnatal wards) and gynaecology wards, operation theatres and recovery room. The faculty members have been assigned administrative jobs in the scheduled manner. We have regular teaching sessions and rounds in which detailed report about patients and administrative problems are given by the on call doctors in presence of all the residents and the consultant staff.

POSTGRADUATE EDUCATION AND TRAINING

The department is providing postgraduate education and training in the form of FCPS, MRCOG, MCPS, DGO and MS in obstetrics and gynaecology.

UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION

The department runs undergraduate teaching program leading to the degree in Bachelor of surgery (MBBS). Number of students enrolled for undergraduate programs are 36 students (12 4th years and 24 of final year) per session since the establishment of Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed AlNahayan Medical and Dental College, Lahore affiliated with University of Health Sciences, Lahore (Pakistan).

The department also helps in providing lectures and supervision to basic and post basic nursing students.
